A Date.

John and I have talked as friends via the internet for about 4 years. Two weeks ago, John called and asked if I would actually like to go to lunch. I jumped at the chance. I was so excited to finally meet him.

He cancelled the 1st date we had set. He said his Mother went into the hospital. If he was telling the truth, I completely understand. Mothers are good people & should always be taken care of. So, we rescheduled the date for yesterday.

I was not nervous or excited to meet another man off the internet. After many dates, I have low expectations. My thought is if we hit if off GREAT, and if not it's OKAY. I showed up at 11:30a for lunch at a local deli. We introduced ourselves and that was the highlight of the date.

While waiting in line, he was talking to my chest. I told him my eyes were not down there, but up here. He looked un-kept/un-clean. He was missing many teeth. His table manners were worst than I have ever seen before in a grown man. He had food all over his face & hands. He could not even properly hold his fork. While we were eating, he started talking to my chest again. Again, I told him my eyes were up here & not down there. After we finished eating, he had food all over his finger nails & hands. He simply shrugged his shoulders like it did not matter.

The complete deal breaker was this: He was a child from this 1st marriage. He only sees him every other weekend, but has the option to see him more. John simply does not want too spend more time with his child. After I heard this, I called the date to an end & ran to my car.

I am child of divorce. I barely remember my Mom & Bio-Father being together. However, I longed for a relationship with my bio-father. Until my Mom married my Step/Adopted Dad, I never knew what a true Dad was like. Praise God for my Adopted Daddy.

I guess the saying is true: A woman must kiss many frogs before she finds her Prince. Thank goodness I did not kiss this frog.

THE Coffee Pot everyone should have.

Hamilton Beach has invented an incredible coffee pot. The flavor of the coffee is so much richer & bolder in this pot than any other I have used. It's a one-hand dispensing with no carafe, no pouring and no spills. In other words, the coffee does not sit in a carafe waiting to get burned. Ladies & Gents, burned coffee is the worst thing. Yuk! Also, this pot has a 2 hour shut off switch. If you are anything like me, it's one of the best features on this coffee pot. Here's what you need to do: Leave immediately, drive to your nearest Target or Walmart to buy fabulous pot! Happy Coffee Drinking!

Christ has shined again.

1 4 3

For the past 4 days, I have had dinner at my friend, Karla's house. The food has been good. The company was so wonderful. Wii Bowling has been great! I want a Wii now just to play bowling at home.

Karla & Kenny have 4 small kids and 1 teenager. Karla was blessed with 2 sets of twins. Kirsten & Kaden are 6. Abigail and Allison are 3. Stephanie will be 16 next month. Sweet Sixteen..WOW! Their home is absolutely filled with blessed chaos constantly. Right now, all the kids are at such an amazing stage of development. I love watching them grow.

Abigail and Allison's speech is just exploding right now. I love having conversations with them. Allison has even told she put me on the "naughty" list a couple of times. I was quite impressed she actually knew I needed to be on the naughty list! Lately, when it's time for Aunt BlueEyes to go home, Allie & Abby tell me they love me. The first time I heard this my heart almost burst. Last night, I was telling Allie Good Night & she said it very loud. At that very moment, I would have done anything for that child! Anything. Kirsten wanted to sit by me at dinner a couple of times this week. I silently thanked God for such an amazing child.

It's a blessing from Christ that a child can love so unconditionally. Well, until you are put back on the naughty list.

Red Head Moment # 1031

It always amazes me when I have a red head moment (and yes, it's my version of a blonde moment). After taking the dogs outside, I tried to unlock my front door. It simply would not unlock. I started to get a little nervous. Out of frustration, I looked down at my hand to see what I was actually doing. I noticed I tried to unlock my front door with my car remote. DUH! No wonder it was unlocking! Only I would do something like this. Maybe I should just die my hair blonde....What do you think?
