The Cheesy Girls.

Memorial Weekend was a good, lazy weekend. Here's the run down: I took care of Karla's dogs while they went on a mini vacation, I went to Heather house to visit Brooke & baby Emery, Brooke--You are absolutely adorable. Congrats on a Beautiful Daughter. Emery is beautiful! I organized & cleaned my bedroom closet (praise God it's finally done), watched Lifetime, Discovery Health, & the HBO channel almost all weekend, I have very sore arm muscles from falling twice over the weekend and cleaning out my closet (I really do not do well when I am sore & hurting), hosted a mini-Sorority meeting, watched the rain, walked in the rain, washed clothes (how can one person dirty so much?), I went to Sunday School & Church, walked the dogs, rested & napped, was lazy on the sofa, went to Studio Movie Grill yesterday with Deborah, got queso spilled on both Deb & I (hence the name of this blog---The Cheesy Girls), got free passes to another movie, will not order queso again.

Here's what I learned this weekend: If I simply keep up my closet, I would not have organize it once a year or so, the dogs really do not like walking in the rain & would prefer to hold it until they can not hold it anymore, I am the biggest whiny baby when I am in pain--any pain--what's going to become of me if I ever have to experience anything major in my life---just give me the strongest pain medication the hospital has, did you know you can only take 6 tablets of ibuprofen in a 24 hour period--I think I took 16 pills on Saturday--I guess I should read the labels before I take so many, I am very proud of the our Military who protect us each day so I may have freedom, and last but definitely not least I need someone to come finish my laundry. Seriously, how can one person dirty so much?

Spiders are NOT a Girl's Best Friend.

Last night, after I came in my front door I noticed this HUGE spider by the door. I started freaking out immediately (I'm such a GIRL)! It was the biggest spider EVER. He jumped on the side of the sofa.......I started saying I will never be able to sit on my new sofa again (like the spider really cares)! I tried to get him off & finally I did after 3 times kicking the other side of the sofa. He started walking towards me. I started screaming. The dogs thought they found a new toy. Abby walked right over to it and started touching it. I started screaming in a nice calm voice to the dogs...."Get away Girls, Get away, the Spider will eat you". The spider is still coming towards me. I did what any Good, Nice Southern Lady would do.......I stepped on it and screamed at the same time (believe me I had shoes on)! I picked up my foot only to find out the spider was still alive & well and still coming at me (apparently he had a mission). So, this time I stepped on him again, still screaming, and I started doing dances on top of him. He was finally gone. Thank goodness. I never really thought of myself as a Drama Queen until this very moment. It's official: I AM A DRAMA QUEEN!

Writers Block = stupid & random rambles

I have writers block this week. What do I post? What DO I POST? During the weekend, I had all these great things to blog about, but when I decided to post all the "great" stuff leaves my pretty little head.....Why does that happen?

My week has been uneventful. Work, Work, and More Work. I'm going to be extremely busy between now and the end of June. June is our busiest month.

I'm looking forward to the 3 day weekend. My goal this weekend is to clean & organize my bedroom closet. Do I have any volunteer's to help (not everyone respond at once)?!

My Mom, Favorite Cousin (Tina), and Niece (Allie) are coming for a short visit in June. They are coming June 19th. I'm very excited to see them all! I need to clean out my closet before they get here.

Congrats to Arlington for winning the Superbowl 2011! GO Arlington! Imagine the possibilities! Wonder if the Cowboys got to play in Superbowl 2011??....It would be pure chaos in the Metroplex.

I'm ready for my Summer TV shows to begin: Kyle XY, The 4400, Big Love, Army Wives, The Starter Wive, The Dead Zone, and Traveler. Yep, I'm still addicted to TV. Thank goodness I now know how to use my VCR.

I spent $25 last night on Supper at a mexican restaurant that I will never go back to. The meal & margarita was NOT worth $25. I was very disappointed.

I'm the NEW President of my Sorority! WOW...I wonder how the first meeting will go. I'm going to a fool of myself, but it will be fun!

Stay tuned for more random rambles!

Family Gone Wild!

My friend, Amy, & her husband Donnie came into town this week from OK. Amy is Deborah's sister........Deborah is one of my bestest Girlfriends! I instantly like Amy, too! Deborah & Amy are now 100% MY sisters! I have always wanted a sister......and now I am blessed with so many of them. I went over to Deb's house for dinner with the family. Amy, Deborah and I stayed up talking until 11:30p. I drove home, and stayed up until around 2am. I could not sleep b/c I had heartburn. It was good quiet time at home. I love staying up late on the weekends. If I can make it passed 11pm without falling asleep on the sofa, I can stay up real late. If my eyes start to get heavy, I'm down for the count.
Saturday, I went to lunch with Deb & Amy. We shopped until we dropped.
I went to go feed "run away" kids Saturday afternoon. My heart was broken when I left the home. I desperately want a family and to watch these children who have run away or who's families did not want them, or whatever their situation: I get angry. I did not have a perfect childhood, but my Parents always put the needs of their children before their own. I never needed/wanted for anything. As I watched these children, you can tell they have very low self esteems, you can see sadness in their eyes, & they seem to have the weight of the world on their little shoulder's. Heavenly Father, Please bless, guide, & the lead these children to happiness today & all the days of their lives.
Saturday night, we went to a Pig Roast. I had a good time, but by the end of the night my feet were hurting so very badly. When I finally got home, the pain in my feet were un-bearable. I literally cried when I finally got off the sofa to walk to my bed.
Walking the dogs on Sunday morning was NOT fun. It took me 1 hour & 45 minutes to get beautiful to go to church b/c every time I did something like take a shower or brush my teeth I had to sit down to rest b/c my feet hurt so bad. I even wore tennis shoes to church (which is something I never do). Sunday was Amy's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMY! We went to BJ's for lunch. The food was great, but the company was so much better! We all went back to Deb's house after lunch to rest. I tried to take a nap, but how can someone nap with 7 other adults and 2 small kids talking or laughing!
I had a great weekend! It was not long enough but it was wonderful!!!
Deborah, thanks for making me apart of your family. Thanks for always including me in everything you do. I love you so very much. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful Sister & family the day we became friends!

Fed Up with this Week!

I'm ready for 4:30p to come! Please come quickly. I am having a really long week.
I really do not have major plans this weekend. My friend, Amy, is coming into town! I'm exited she's coming "home". My Sorority and I are providing a meal to one of the "run-a-way" children's shelters on Saturday. I now do not have to work tomorrow...HipHipHooray! ! I have a Pig roast to go to tomorrow night.

This morning I returned to bible study called, Play&Pray or it's Pray&Play (I can never remember the exact name). I had a great God-filled two hours. I needed a weekly bible study where I can learn more about my Christ & grow in Him. My Female Pastor leads the study. Pastor Shannon is one of my Favorite People....She's a great listener, not judgemental, she has a great laugh, great morals, and is so God-filled. I truly admire Shannon. I'm blessed to be able to attend this study. Thank you Lord this blessing.

Have a great weekend! Behave yourself!

Aches & Pains of Growing Old.

Good Morning, Friends.
In the last 2 days, I am experiencing pain & aches in my right arm. It just simply aches. The pain was so bad at 1:30am it woke me up! I took some PM medicine & went back to bed. Last night, my arm did not hurt if I kept it still.....but here's the funny part......Since I am awake, it aches when it simply is still. Weird.
The older I get the more I can feel all the pains of simply aging. I am getting more lines or wrinkles on my face. I am getting a ton of white hair (most people call it grey, but since I have red hair my "grey" hair is really white). Here's the kicker about aging: My Body is getting older, but I still think of myself as a 20-something year old. I heard several of my elderly family members and some elderly members at church who have said they were a Young Woman trapped in an old Ladies body.

Getting older is NOT fun, but gaining Wisdom with age is incredible.

What types of things have you noticed about yourself as you age?

Another Red Head Moment.

Last night, I was playing with the dogs on the floor. Most nights, I will sit on the floor & throw Phoebe's toys (ALL the toys are Phoebe's....actually the moment she entered my home, she claimed every toy & both dog bed's as hers. Phoebe "allows" Abby to play with her stuff). So, I took off my glasses while I was playing with the girls. After I was done playing, I sat on the sofa. I wanted to watch the new show on ABC, Traveler. The show is going to be Great!
For about 30 minutes, I thought my TV extremely blurry. I could not figure out what was wrong. Until I happened to glance at the coffee table & noticed my glasses. Well, no wonder the TV was blurry....I did not have my glasses on my face.....and it took me about 30 minutes to figure it out. Yep, another Red Head Moment for me!

My Thursday Thirteen.

Beth Moore posted a great blog last week talking about where she spends time with our Precious Lord. Here's the Link to her blog:

http://livingproofministries.blogspot.com/2007/05/come-sit-spell-with-me-in-my-backyard.html

I have thought about Beth's post several times since I read it. My Thursday Thirteen is dedicated to places, people, and situations to where I feel God's Presence or see His Beauty.

1. When I hear a child's laughter, I know God is near. It's sweet music to my ears.

2. Right before the Pastor prays at church, we have a moment of silent Prayer. It's so comforting to know that God's presence is so very near.

3. I love to take the dogs outside just as the sun is rising. I love feeling the sun on my face. I always think it's God's hands on my face.

4. When I see a field of flowers, I always think God's beauty is so incredible, so peaceful.

5. At the beach, when the sun sets is where I gain strength in the Lord.

6. Spending time with my family is a blessing. We may not always get along with each other but so many people struggle to even have a relationship with their family. It's a blessing to actually like my family.

7. As I look back on the time I had with my MawMaw, I always think I wanted more time. She is in heaven with God. She is no longer in pain...and for that I am so very thankful to our Lord.

8. I am a Youth Sponsor at church. As I have watched the children grow up in Christ, it's a blessing to see even though we live in a fallen world, Teenagers who can be lead into evil ARE being lead to Christ.

9. When you hold an infant, it's such a peaceful, God filled moment. Each time I hold an infant it brings so much peace to my life it's absolutely amazing.

10. When I think about the creation of heaven and earth, I am in awe of God's plan. God Created the Heavens and the Earth, all you see, all you don't see. Every shade of green was spoken by our Lord, God blew the birds into the air and created the fish of the sea, he made Humans in HIS own image. God created the Lion & the Lamb (these phrase were taken by The Miracle Play in TN). The Lord, Our God, created a beautiful Masterpiece.

11. When a stranger smiles at you for no reason, it's a great feeling to know there are still some sweet people in the World.

12. When we make medical advances, I am always amazed at the ability God gave someone to cure the sick.

13. When I listen to God's Will & not my own, is when I can truly see God's gifts for me. Praise God for Un-answered prayers.

Spring Cleaning Again.

My home has been in a disarray since it was painted. Every single one of my "hot spots" (a place I dump stuff when I come home or a place I put stuff when I'm too lazy to find a real place for it) has been completely covered with stuff. Monday night, I cleared one hot spot. Tuesday night, I half cleaned my 2nd hot spot. Tonight, I am going to finish the 2nd and finish the 3rd spot. I am building up to heavy duty spring cleaning on Saturday. I want to re-organize my bedroom closet. I need it to flow...at the moment it is simply over-flowing. I want to spot clean my carpet. Living with pets it's hard to keep up with the carpet. Pets are gross...they are lucky they are so loving & adorable. I need to dust my bedroom, change my sheets, & make my bed. I need to completely clean my kitchen, wipe the counter tops down & wipe the stuff sitting on the counters, I need to mop, vacuum...........Honestly, I need a maid. I'm too busy to keep up with my own mess. Since I was sick in November & I finally just started feeling better again in March I am finally physically able to spring clean my home (believe me, I have cleaned my home since November, but not the way it needs to be cleaned). Plus, My Mom & Niece are coming to visit me in June. So, I need to start cleaning now to have everything in place when they come!
Hopefully, Saturday will begin with Garage Sale shopping with my Heather Friend, the start of my Spring cleaning, dinner at my place with friends......Cinco de Mayo on the 12th of May...Mexican night, with a great dessert that I got from one of my Blogger Friends, PandaMom........Dessert Fruit Pizza. YUM! (PandaMom, I am excited to try this on Saturday...Thanks for the recipe!)

Here's a question of the day: Do you make your bed everyday?

Canton Bound.

My Sorority and I went on our Girl's Weekend. We spent the weekend in Canton, TX. Canton host a huge monthly flea-market. We stayed on "The Mountain" in a Bed & Breakfast. The room was an okay room, but the bathroom was an after thought to who ever built it. It was the smallest shower I have ever been in.

I love going on Girl's weekends, but this weekend was a long one. I had a good time with my Sister's. Also, I saw so many people I knew in Canton. It was quite funny every time I went into a new section of the market, I saw someone I knew!
I also enjoyed exploring the flea market, but I never really realized until spending the weekend in Canton that Canton is truly a small little country town. We only ate on "The Mountain". We ate at a Mexican Restaurant & a BBQ place. They both made me sick to my stomach! I love trying new restaurants, but anymore in Canton! Also, the weather was also extremely HOT! May is normally not so hot, but this weekend it was unbearable. I did have a good weekend, but between the shower & the heat, I could have stayed at the Holiday Inn & been a much happier camper!

I am the one responsible for planning our next Girl's Weekend Next year. Do you have any suggestions on where we should go? What's been your favorite Girl's Weekend?

It's glorious rambles today!

This morning I went to bed at 1am and the alarm went off at 5am. I had a ton to do last night before bed: wash clothes, clean up a little (when I said a little---I meant a little), take care of the dogs, eat dinner, buy liquor! I have BIG plans this weekend....I hope to have lots of interesting funny stories on Monday to write about. Let's just say, it's 4 Sorority Sisters & liquor are involved!

Here goes my Friday Rambles:

I took the dogs outside at 5:15am.......Do you realize at 5:15am there are way too many creepy crawly things outside? yuk.

I am addicted right now to The Miracle Soundtrack. The Miracle was a musical of Jesus' life on earth. The play is located in Gatlinburg, TN. It's one of the most powerful & emotional plays I have ever seen.

I finally got a CD player in my car. It's my very 1st CD player in any of my vehicles. Amazing how something so simple can make your day.

I was singing in my car yesterday afternoon and was busted by the Guy in the next car. He waved at me. I was not even embarrassed this time (I must be getting old).

I have to go now. I'm at work & they expect me to actually work.

Typical Me Morning.

Around 3am this morning, I woke up with a "charlie horse" in my left foot & toes. The pain was unbearable. I was laughing & crying. My toes kept curly up--it was painful, but to see my toes curl like that was hilarous! My toes may never recover!

I started this morning off on the wrong side of the bed. I got up 45 minutes late. I took the dogs outside. They were wet & gross when we finally came back in. I could not decide on what to wear. I realized I did not have anything clean to wear. So, I had to wear "dress up" closes with heels today. Heels are definitely not my friend! Finally, I get in the shower. I just purchased a new bottle of shampoo. The bottle has a pump. I love pumps. I could not figure out how to un-screw the pump part of the bottle. I kept thinking how was I going to wash my hair if I can not use the pump---typical red head moment for me. It then hit me----I can actually unscrew the lid and pour shampoo into my hand. WOW, not so bright this morning!
At this point, I could not remember if I had brushed my teeth or not. Just in case, I brushed my teeth again. While I was getting dressed, I realized I did not put on deodorant. I put the deodorant on while my shirt was buttoned---BIG mistake! I had to take off the shirt and find another one to wear! Thank God I had another shirt from the dry cleaners! Halfway to work, I realize I forgot to pack my breakfast & lunch (someone come & feed me today!!!).

I do not function well in the mornings. I like to think Mornings are the Enemy.

Angels

My dearest friend, Karla, came over on Sunday night. Karla & I put all my pictures back on the walls. It took a couple of hours, but it's done! HipHipHooray! Karla has such a good eye for doing stuff like this. I am finally getting my apartment to look like my home again! Karla, Thanks so very much for helping me on Sunday night! I absolutely value our Friendship. God knew what he was doing when we sat by each other in Stephen Ministry. Praise God for his mighty good deeds!

I had a relaxing time over the weekend. I spent good quality time with some of my Sorority Sisters, got my hair cut (It's short, cute, & sassy), went to church, and to youth groups.......It was a great weekend, not long enough, but great!

Since we only had two teenagers show up, we started discussing God's Angels. It's amazing the Bible talks about Angels constantly, but the Bible never really states how or when they came to be in existence. The Bible does states Angels were definitely created by God & they are a different species from humans. I grew up Catholic. In the Catholic church I attended, we talked about Angels constantly in church & in youth groups. Angels always fascinated me. I have always been I am the type of person who likes details---lots of details. Since the Bible does not state when the Angels came into existence, I am on a Mission to find out everything I can about Angels. I just got a book on Angels......and I am really excited to read it.

What do you think about Angels?
